Fall forever into fractals.

Fractaloid is a fractal explorer that runs in your browser. Pick a level, press Explore, and dive. The view keeps magnifying, down to about a hundred orders of magnitude on the deep-zoom levels, and there is always more detail underneath.

What's in it

  • 56 levels. Classic Mandelbrot and Julia sets, Multibrots, Tricorn, Burning Ship, Celtic, Buffalo, Phoenix, and hybrids that switch formula on every step (Fractaloid, Mirror Ship, Pulse, Singularity). Newton, Nova, Magnet, Lyapunov and more, which stop zooming at about 30,000x.
  • 12 fractals in 3D. Fly through a Mandelbox, Menger Sponge, Mandelbulb, Quaternion Julia, Apollonian Foam and others. Fly mode with an auto-pilot that follows the surface, or orbit and zoom toward the cursor.
  • Drift levels. Julia sets whose constant slowly wanders, so the shape morphs while you watch.
  • Build your own. Chain up to eight formula steps (Ship, z², Celtic, Phoenix, ...) and dive into the result. Every step keeps full deep zoom. Or start a 3D fractal from any family and change its rules live in the Shape panel.
  • 75 postcards. Hand-checked spots across 51 levels. Surprise me jumps to a random one; Explore starts the dive there.
  • Look panel. Palettes,it traps, lighting, 3D materials (stone, metal, glass, neon wire, clay), glow, fog, grain, vignette, kaleidoscope. Save looks, bookmark places.
  • Photo mode. The interface hides and a frame shows what the picture will hold: 16:9, 3:2, 1:1, 4:5, 9:16 or the screen. Optional caption anuides, 4K or 8K output.
  • Hands-off. Cruise, auto-pilot, and Tour (auto-pilot, slow cruise and changing colours).
  • Phones and tablets. A touch layout with four main tools and a More sheet, two-finger twist to rotate.
  • 39 achievements for things to find, see and try.

Controls are on-screen; hold ? for the key overlay. H opens Photo mode, L the Look panel, Tab switches to Fly mode in 3D, R returns to the whole view.

Free to play in the browser.
